There Red Tailed hawks in the park where I walk. There used to be a weird lady who would walk laps with a parrot on her shoulder. The hawk took the parrot off her shoulder.
Harris’s Hawks are native to the American Southwest, so it’s interesting that this feral hawk is in Britain. I’m thinking this is an escapee from a falconry owner, as this species is quite often used in the sport of falconry.

You don’t realize how big these birds are until they come down low. One passed three feet over the hood of my F350 from behind and its wing tips on either side were five or six inches wider than the hood.
