The shape is getting closer and closer to that of a cricket bat ...

I’m thinking there is an aerodynamic advantage in the new bat somehow...............

And of course the Yankees are involved, but nothing will happen to them.

The. MLB commissioner will put them on "double secret probation" and bury the matter just like the did with the " sign stealing scandal" of 2017.

Apparently the bat is legal. It had to be approved by the league..............

It’s simple physics. Calculate the velocity, V, in relation to the trajectory, T, in which G, gravity, of course, remains a constant.

I’m older - 74 - when i was younger playing baseball and softball it was
before metal bats - bats that were shaped like that were common - but they
were used for softball and not for baseball.
I always thought they were weird.

The bat may be appealing to the home run hitters, but it also reduces the length of the sweet spot. Any ball hit towards the end of the bat is going to lose a lot of velocity.

The high average singles hitters won't be using it

“Hmmmmm, you would think there to be a particular standard!!”

There is. I would expect the equipment manager for a major league baseball team would know the rules regarding legal vs illegal bats. If he didn’t and allowed his team to use illegal equipment, he should lose his job.

I’ve been to baseball games where I’ve gone home, taken a nap, did the laundry, then returned to the stadium.

They let you back in to the stadium?

Bat speed is very important. Those guys swinging a very light bat developed incredible speed.

Now, imagine if Babe Ruth had not pitched for the first 6 years of his career and had played everyday instead.

Interesting. I guess the 27 years that the Yankees won the World Series did not occur in always. Very interesting.

Judge is currently tied with 1 other player as the 32nd best defensive outfielder in the history of MLB baseball.

One career horrible play doesn't change career MLB Reference stats.

Soon to be banned...

Technically, I think they are already illegal. That little dimple on the end of the bat is less than 1 inch across, violating the specifications rule the video went over.

Now, whether or not that actually makes a performative difference, I don't think so. But I think some could easily make the case that those bats are illegal.
