Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested exploring the establishment of an interim administration in Ukraine supervised by the UN and several nations to hold elections.
"In order to hold democratic elections there, in order to bring to power a viable government that enjoys the people's trust. And then begin negotiations with them on a peace treaty, sign legitimate documents that will be recognized throughout the world and will be reliable and stable," Putin said while speaking with the sailors of the Arkhangelsk submarine.
The Russian leader stated that this process would open the way to legitimate negotiations to resolve the Ukraine conflict.

Yeah, this sounds like a meglo-maniac trying trying to invade the other nations of the EU and take over, doesn’t now?!?!
Fine. Whatever. Just so long as the US is out of there completely and permanently.
Oh, can’t wait to hear the response to this!
Get rid of the Z-Man straight off.
I like this. Putin acting like a leader.
Maybe we should consider setting up a committee, to study the possibility of exploring some undefined UN role in possibly holding elections at some point in the distant future
“supervised by the UN and several nations to hold elections”
Title is misleading.
Gurkas would do it.
As I understand things Ukraine can’t run elections during a war under its constitution.
Yea, right, the UN in charge of Ukraine? That oh so wonderful UN. /sarc
That’s a non-starter if there ever was one.
Using the UN as peacekeeper is one thin notch better than using NATO
No patriotic Ukrainian politician is going to cede territory to Russia by treaty.
At best an armistice will be negotiated.
Putin said it was done in East Timor, Guinea and former Yugoslavia. Putin looked crazed in the video.
Marcus, I am curious. Since you are obviously a Ukraine propogandist you may actually know what is going on over there. What does Ukraine really expect out of a peace deal? There is no way that the winning party (Russia) is going to come close to what Z is asking for (the return of all occupied territory). It simply isn’t going to happen. So, what is the end game here, unending war, WW III with NATO???
No it’s not.

On the other hand:
Putin suggests possibility of placing Ukraine under temporary administration, Russian news agencies report Reuters, 27 March 2025.Baha would like to sell his investment advice.... Proably best to stick with American traders, if you are here.
Russia didn’t win anything. After 3 years, they only occupy 20% of Ukraine but that includes the 7% of the territory they controlled before the 2022 invasion.
So after 3 years of war, Putin really only took 13% of Ukraine.
Putin looked crazed and was rolling his eyes on the video when he made his UN takeover proposal.
These are not the actions of a winner.
That is the only avenue to peace.
