PHOENIX - We’re learning more about the case of Emily Pike, a 14-year-old girl who was murdered after going missing last month.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect who dismembered the Apache teen who was living in a Mesa group home.

What we know:

We obtained 12 pages of documents from Mesa Police.

This missing person's case is closed now because of the ongoing homicide investigation, but we do get a glimpse of Emily’s past and the timeline leading up to the tragic discovery of her remains.

The backstory:

On Jan 27, near Mesa Drive and McKillips Road, a group home manager reported 14-year-old Emily Pike missing to Mesa Police.

According to the report, she said Emily snuck out of her bedroom window and that this wasn’t the first time she ran away.

The manager said the last time Emily left the house, she was found near Fitch Park.

Staff checked the Rock Teen Center a couple days later where Emily had visited, but no one had seen or heard from her.

Dig deeper:

By Feb. 19, a Mesa Police Officer says he spoke to an agent with the Bureau of Indian Affairs who believed Emily had been located within the Gila County Indian Reservation after human remains had been discovered on Valentine’s Day just off Highway 60 north of at milepost 277.

This area is around a hundred miles away from where the San Carlos Apache teen was last seen alive.

Two weeks later, she was positively identified and a murder investigation ensued.

Try watching the TV series “1923”, with Harrison Ford. It’s on Amazon.

Tribal communities and families have since united in their grief, calling for justice.

More stupid, empty virtue-signaling.

the kid was in group home, meaning she had no parents and family. She was running away and clearly fell in with bad elements. She was on Apache land

Where was the "tribal community" before this troubled kid was killed?

Family members, possibly. Sexual abuse is rampant in native communities and most females are killed by their families.

The movie “Wind River” was really good. Although it’s been so long since I watched it I don’t recall who did it. Bit it is about a missing Indian girl, and IIRC a bunch of others.

Demographically, Indian girls are one of the groups with the highest risk of going missing.

Its about early landowners in Montana in the 20’s. Excellent series. Addicting. Also on Paramount+, FUBO, and Spectrum on Demand.

1883 is a Prequel to 1923, which in turn is a prequel to Yellowstone.
They are all excellent !
Dark winds- another excellent series.

It’s about the Dutton family from Yellowstone, earlier years. There’s also another one called 1883 about the Duttons even earlier.

If they have a suspect and are searching for them then why are they not naming them. Or is the article just poorly written and they don’t actually have a suspect.

My take is that they used “suspect” when they meant “perpetrator(s).”

I don’t think they know much.

Troubled kids, and good kids, can do dumb things and sometimes they get killed.

World has evil lurking always.
