I was going to go to the range in my wife’s hometown a couple years ago. They wanted a scan of my DL.
I noped right out.

Does that mean that I checked my bank account online I really have no money in the account?

If their computers go down, are hacked, or loss of electricity, the answer is yes. Just ask the people in NC and FL.

“If their computers go down, are hacked, or loss of electricity, the answer is yes. Just ask the people in NC and FL.”
If the computers go down the backups can take over or restore.
If the account is hacked they have ways to recover funds. In any case, the accounts are insured.
If the power goes out you still have the money but may be delayed in being able to retrieve it. Anyway, it is better than hiding it in your mother’s old house.
I’m in Florida. What do you want me to ask myself?

You can use Layer 2 protocols to do small transactions like retail in a timely fashion.

My grandfather had a Tulip farm. Too bad he sold the farm before tulip mania hit the market.

With up to 40 percent swings in “ value”, I disagree. The primary qualification for “ money” is to be stable, not a roller coaster. Carry on.

Good thing he sold it before the tulip BULB mania hit. He wouldn’t have been able to afford them.

Bitcoin is good stored value but wont replace money.
Around 1700, the gold standard replaced paper money as the world's base currency because paper money became too easy to produce with the printing press.
Since human nature doesn't change, expect some crypto currency to eventually replace the US dollar and today's fiat currencies.
For example, a few weeks ago, DOGE discovered that 14 departments in the executive branch were producing unauthorized money out of thin air. Magic monetary production can't happen with Bitcoin or any other peer-to-peer network architecture.

False, The block chain contains no personal information.

Thank you, it is tangible, but please make it a copper penny, not our current copper plated zinc……the ones I dug up on the beach in Florida were decomposed beyond recognition….much like our USD’s.
