After seeing Russia’s ineptitude against Ukraine I can’t see the Russian Hoard coming across the Fulda Gap to take over Europe. The need for the USA as part of NATO may not be there anymore.

the soviets seem to be out of drones, rockets, tanks, and soldiers anyway, given that they’re having to buy drones and rockets from iran and import soldiers from Norkland ...

I don't believe NATO is needed. The EU nations let their military preparedness atrophy - they really aren't afraid of Russia.
I don't believe Russia's performance in Ukraine is inept - they have been fighting the combined forces of NATO in this proxy war, and NATO lost.
From the start of the war, Russia wanted to force negotiations (Biowarfare labs, no Ukraine in NATO etc.) and kept knocking the Ukrainian infrastructure, expecting the Ukraine to negotiate. But the Ukraine is just a front for NATO, and NATO doesn't care about the citizens having running water and electricity.
Gradually, Russia upped it's damage to infrastructure, and eventually (longer than Russian citizens wanted) Putin concluded that Ukraine would never ever negotiate (NATO wouldn't allow it), and then the gloves came off.
The US needs to get out, and stay out, of NATO - they only see us as a cash cow and fall-guy/scape goat. Zelensky has been saying for quite some time that his 'victory plan' requires the US enter the war directly. He and his handlers are still holding out for that. How does any of this benefit the US? They are using us.
