All of this transit in the USA originated in the private sector and was constructed by it. It was municipal and state governments that subsequently forced these private companies to charge artificially-low unprofitable fares that would bankrupt them and force a transfer into the public sector.
Proves my point. It will end up being the public sector and with unions. YOU will be a slave to them and their whims...
Interest side point. The first time I went to Orlando sometime in the 90’s, they had 3 bus services, one run by the city and 2 others.
Within 5 years or so, they were back to one. I think the city took them over.
