In their zeal to recast the characters with liberal ideology, the writers have omitted an essential ingredient that made the original a lovely story: the lessons on morality, ethics, and right from wrong.

How many of us grew up knowing that Brer Rabbit was a huckster looking to fool Ol Brer Bear. In the end Rabbit gets his.

Or the compassion and gentle wisdom displayed by Remus.

The remakes toss aside these essential components that make a timeless story across all cultures.

Without the fundamental building blocks, we are left with an unattractive hateful “princess” and the mean queen is actually more beautiful. The story is inverted and the moral fabric gone, more hollowed out than that log Brer Rabbit is hiding in.

Wow. What an excellent analysis, that impressed me. Indeed the story is inverted, and the moral fabric is not just gone, it is twisted. This is the way of the Left. They take everything good an pervert it, and present perversion as normal and good.

I have only recently begun reading the Bible, so I am not generally someone who quotes scripture, but this does stick out to me: Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
