Over time, certain beliefs have become so popular that they become part of the cultural norm — unfortunately, though, not all beliefs are healthy and good. So when Reddit user PhenomenalPancake asked: "What toxic belief is far too common?" a ton of people gave their honest opinions on the matter. Here's what they said below.
1."Justifying bad behavior because someone did the same to you. Someone else acting poorly is not an excuse for you to act poorly."
2."That family has to tolerate each other no matter how reprehensible their behavior is.
3."That you can just will yourself out of depression and/or chronic medical conditions."
4."That hard work guarantees success."
5."The customer is always right."
6."That you should always be happy and thankful your situation isn't worse.
7."Women are 'too emotional' to do a 'man’s job.'"
8."'We don't owe anyone anything'
9."That other people gaining rights will somehow remove your own."
10."That as soon as you and your friend have your first argument, you're no longer friends."
11."'If they pick on you, it means that they have a crush on you.'
12."Men shouldn't show emotions (other than anger, which is apparently manly)."
13."That introverts are lonely and need to be pushed to get out and do more.
14.And finally, "'You have to love yourself before you can love anybody else.'

I agree.

#3 Irritated me. While you can’t will yourself out of a physical condition, I have willed myself out of depression. The kind which is chemically-induced due to imbalances is rarer than people think, and a lot of drugs are being thrown at people whose depression is being caused by external factors. That doesn’t help.
Depression and ADHD need less drugs and more teaching people how to cope and work within their boundaries, and how to expand them healthily. People are taking drugs just because at this point, and I see them being handed out like candy.

Yep. Brainwashed modern women
You might want to copyright that and put it on a tee-shirt.
We don't. We owe each other common decency of course. I could see an argument for a social safety net that is not allowed to become a hammock. Beyond that? No. We don't owe others for everything. You DID build that - not "society". It doesn't take a village - it takes a family especially good parents. We are not all in it together.
Agree that, as a blanket statement, that is untrue / a gross generalization.
In some circumstances, one can incur a debt to others.
In some circumstances, others can accrue a credit with us.
I would also argue that, in many cases, receiving (unrequested) aid from another does not inexorably burden us with a binding moral debt, and that no moral obligation is imposed.
Statement #8 is dangerous insofar as it is instrumentalized by socialists who say that we individuals "owe" something to society - that we have incurred a binding moral debt, which is easily converted into a legal debt - based upon some flimsy assertion like, "Well, society provides you with a social net in case you are in dire need."
One is free to feel a personal obligation - if one wishes. But if reciprocity is demanded, then the whole matter is reduced to a mere transaction - wholly lacking in a moral dimension.
Regards,
Yes! And some cases of depression and anxiety can be attributed to genetic mutations, such as MTHFR, which means your body cannot process necessary B vitamins without methylfolate. If you just take the standard WallyWorld brand multi-vitamin or B-complex that includes synthetic folic acid, you are putting a toxic load on your body and those symptoms will skyrocket. I felt a massive change after switching to methylated B vitamins. Stopped chewing my nails, started sleeping better, stopped having panic attacks. I know people who were diagnosed as bipolar and on drugs... all went away with the methylated B vitamins.
As I pass through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.
2
We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.
3
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
4
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
5
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”
6
On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”
7
In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”
8
Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew,
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four–
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.
9
As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
10
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

What? You don’t like Kipling?
Boy: You don’t like Kipling?
Girl: I’ve never kippled, you naughty boy.
“6.”That you should always be happy and thankful your situation isn’t worse.“
You should, because in most cases it can.
Yeah, so Kippling is a kind of a dance.
And if you ever find yourself all kippled up...
...just kipple on!
Yep - absolute tripe...
“11.”’If they pick on you, it means that they have a crush on you.’”
I guess that would mean the left absolutely adores President Trump...🥸
Can you link anything informative on that subject for me?
