First of all, MYOB! You stick to your lane and everybody else can stick to theirs. This forum has been a staunch advocate for Constitutional principles and dare I say your comments appear authoritarian and fanciest. I hope this is not the case. As a long time member, I will continue to opine on my terms and I encourage other to do the same.
First: I AM minding my own business. Free Republic is in my swim lane. I am a nonstop poster and steady participant.
Secondly, I am technical (very) and I am pointing out HUGE security holes.
Third, I am advocating for increased programmatic and technical security. Surely you cannot be against preventing password cracking and account hijacking???!?
Laz is pointing out a vulnerability of the site.
If you were in a foxhole and someone spotted an enemy would you react that way?
How dare you accuse Laz of fanciestism!
Cool it! Laz is a good egg.
Can you show us on the doll where you were hurt?
Chill out. It is a discussion.
Don’t go away mad, Schumer. Just go away.

Information security is authoritarian. It is meant to protect the account user, other users, and site admins against things like credit card theft (you donate to FR?) There is no leeway and the goal is to make it as difficult to login as possible. (16 chars, at least 1 uppercase, 2 numbers and 2 special characters) Then add on MFA (multi factored authentication) where you log in and you get a code on your cell phone or email to key in.
Here is where the problem comes in and it was identified earlier. What if a conservative dad had an account, handed it off to his idiot liberal daughter and she starts creating questionable posts. How do we deal with that? Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for that.
Curious how this gives you butthurt.
Rather, FR is not FB or a single lane, nor just a news aggregator. but a unique community forum of many devoted posters who care about it, and thus sometimes post concerns or advice, for discussion, which is an fundamental aspect of a forum.
