Except it makes no sense. He ran on wanting to cut military spending, getting out of the wars, and taming the MIC.

Now with this CR there is even more military spending. It risks the image that he has his head up Linda Graham’s skirt... I seriously do not like that image at all and have to question it.

I have this theory that Trump’s strategy is to sign off on the CR that adds $2T to the national debt on paper, while clawing back $1T from the last fiscal year through DOGE and then saving $1T in the next one by canceling contracts and firing government workers.

I think it depends on HOW the military spending is allocated. We do need to build up our inventory again, but we need to cut spending to woke projects and foreign aid.

The military industrial complex demands about $50 billion per year in war. As soon as we quit spending $50b per year in Afghanistan, we started spending $50b per year in Ukraine.

He certainly has a point there. That's not the kind of spending we need.

Deep State was never going to be delenda est in a day.

The Revolutionary War took eight years.

This one could take ever longer against an entrenched enemy that hides in plain sight, doesn’t have an ocean to cross, and has God knows how much of our money hoarded.

Tom Paine said it best...

“...THESE are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country but he that stands it NOW, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hall, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain, too cheap, we esteem too lightly:—’Tis dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to set a proper price upon its goods; and it wou?d be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated...”
