Likewise on both. I have the Pro, but sometimes, my default doesn’t pop up, the Edge would pop up instead (I think it was anything MS related).
Thankfully, it is rare that I use Win anymore (sometimes for gaming.. especially VR).
Yeah, that happens to me at times, and you're right, certain Microsoft processes and application specifically call for Edge, not the default browser of the user's preference. I'm not sure whether that's because they want to ensure that the content is displayed "their way", or they're just doing their usual a$$hole act. I'm not sure I care, since I can't do anything about it except avoid Microsoft applications. I'm stuck with Outlook for work stuff, but I try to use LibreOffice for other tasks.
The OP was complaining about Edge launching on bootup, which sure sounds like the Startup list. My Win11 launches Teams on bootup, but I left it that way because it's my work machine and I actually need Teams up first anyway.
