Wow! What a great memory that must be!
I wasn’t impressed by Segovia at all. This was Orchestra Hall in Chicago. He was bored out of his gourd and looked like he was only there because he was counting his paycheck in his head. VERY disappointed. I had his albums and had been so looking forward to that evening.
Best was Bob Dylan. Same location. He had the full auditorium at his fingertip. He raised a digit and the whole place went silent. Each time he performed, the room went crazy after. That was the best evening.
