Yeah. Was a little run down when I was there. They fixed it up. Saw James Taylor there. A friend of mine lived within earshot.

“Steelheart (Mili is a close buddy)” Big fan. Those guys really got screwed by the change in trends. Very talented. No place for real singers in an age of grunting.

Agree! I think Mili (Matijevic) is the most underrated rock vocalist alive. I became a friend before I became a fan, and only later learned of their music.

I’m relieved to see that someone else here is old enough to admit to having seen The Doors play live. Break on through, brother.

I wasn’t impressed by Segovia at all. This was Orchestra Hall in Chicago. He was bored out of his gourd and looked like he was only there because he was counting his paycheck in his head. VERY disappointed. I had his albums and had been so looking forward to that evening.

Best was Bob Dylan. Same location. He had the full auditorium at his fingertip. He raised a digit and the whole place went silent. Each time he performed, the room went crazy after. That was the best evening.

And he came to a door.

And he OPENED THE F***ING DOOR!

(That was in the Frank Zappa and the Mothers live version. I doubt it was ever recorded and released.)
