Same her in Payette County. We live in Payette on the border with Oregon, and the only time I was required to wear a mask was when I went into businesses like Home Depot and Walmart in Ontario across the border.
At the time I never missed a day of work as I remodeling and old theater to convert it into a convention center in Ontario, but the guy I was doing the construction for never required me to mask.
Like you up North, life pretty much went on as normal for us.
I told everyone that would listen this was a mistake and stupid. It dragged on for almost 2 years in some places. I still have around 15% of the people I work with wearing masks TODAY!
I had to go to the bank a few times and I had the same feeling as you. I always worried if the bank guard was going to draw on me for wearing a mask to go into a bank. Totally weird!
I grew up male and survived to adulthood. Born in the 60’s when we really were a free people. No seatbelts, riding in the back of pickup trucks, diving boards...
You could say I was a rick assessment pro by 2020...
Also there was a very sizable COVIDiot contingent here on FR. Many of them have tried to hide it now but I remember...
I have no clue what this article is trying to say. It seems to compare the 5 nations against each other, but not with the rest of the nations that locked down and stayed locked down.
Of course in the end it seems to say that lockdowns were useful and necessary.
But I am not really positive what the article is trying to say. It is very unclear.
“I wore a fake “Steam Punk” gas mask.
Nobody said a word...or even cracked a smile.”
I made my masks out of pantyhose. One layer. It was like a screen door.
Nobody ever questioned it, at work where we were required to wear one, or even at medical facilities. My wife on the other hand was always embarrassed to be seen with me.
