Why not overtime? Basically the full amount of your normal pay is taxed, the 1/2 extra you get for overtime should not be taxed. It an incentive for more productivity from the work force

"Basically the full amount of your normal pay is taxed, the 1/2 extra you get for overtime should not be taxed."

Are you sure that's what Trump means by "no tax on overtime"? I think most people would find that idea more reasonable.

But, when he said, "No tax on overtime," he gave the impression the whole amount wouldn't be taxed.

I know people who are paid about $30/hour, and they work 20+ hours mandatory overtime. Their OT pay is $45/hour. So, their base pay is $62,400, and they earn $46,800 more in overtime.

I suspect most of us believe Trump has promised that entire $46,800 wouldn't be taxed.

If the whole amount is tax-free, that tax break should be extended to everyone else, and people who work multiple part-time jobs for 60+ hours/week should get a tax break on their 'extra hours,' too.
