I’m trying Lupine and Hollyhocks in my garden this year.
Hollyhocks are one of my favorites. I like the black ones (Nigra), but all of them are pretty and stately. After our barn is re-painted, I am going to plant a row of them along the side that faces the house porch. They’ll be so cheerful to see!
Remember that they are biennials, and only bloom every OTHER year. So, plant some this spring and then next spring too, so you’ll always have some in bloom. They can get invasive, but they are easy enough to spot and pull out/move around where you want them to be. :)
