Didn’t you not just tell them to leave on account of a trivial matter? You don’t seem to honor their right to expression.
That should leave a mark. ;-D
Send her fater Jacob too since he is the one who taught her to not assimilate into the country they moved to.
When you don’t respect what gives you your freedom, take your ungrateful ass and go back home to where you can have your kind of freedom.
According to the ACRL, Danielle’s story is a direct violation of her First Amendment right, and they’ve filed a formal complaint with the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.

The teacher has 1st Amendment rights as well.
An Oath or a Pledge is something for YOU to say, and then for YOU to act accordingly in compliance. YOU are the one making the pledge and declaring your fealty. No matter what you think, you cannot force that on some else's behalf.
If Americans actually practiced what say in that Pledge, and what they say in church for that matter, it would be easier for newcomers to develop a solid respect for the Nation. Then they could recite those words from the heart and with intent.
The rights of one do not override the rights of another.
If they already didn’t respect the nation, why the heck did they come here? They aren’t doing US a favor by coming here. Especially this little brat. She’ll be protesting against the Jews on some college campus in a couple of years.
Are you actually unable to answer that yourself?
They aren’t doing US a favor by coming here
No, it is our gift to them. Perhaps in time they will fully appreciate what they gained.
You seem to be overlooking an extremely important fact: YOU pledged "... with LIBERTY and justice for ALL". Do you merely recite that Pledge, or do you believe its substance? Do you practice what you preach? Think well on this.
Yes should have asked her father why did you move here if you didn’t want to assimilate?.
No One likes or respects an ignorant arrogant know-it-all crybaby.
Agree on the reading choices. I just see the Pledge as being one to a unified Republic, and not to a President. More like the ideals of our nation than whatever government has managed to win the latest election. I loathed Obama, but proudly stated my pledge on a regular basis (part of my work at the time) during his two terms.
You are much closer to my heart than most who are posting here. The pledge says, “...with LIBERTY and justice for all”. I have a lot more of a problem with those who say it, but don’t practice it. Those who say the Pledge and then fail to abide by it are the actual traitors. The others are merely outsiders.
It sure seems like they are getting that. Just look at the nasties of this site.
That’s not how to educate!
My point, exactly.
