Common procedures for chronic spine pain found to offer little to no relief
Medical Xpress / BMJ ^ | Feb. 24, 2025 | Justin Jackson / Xiaoqin Wang et al
Did you return to haunt me? :^D Truthfully, the rhizotomy (radio frequency ablation - nerve deadening) that I had done on my cervical 2 1/2 years ago ended 20+ years of never ending misery, praise God!
The same thing that we are considering for my lumbar does not encourage me much. Two diagnostic 'medial branch blocks' (facet joints - L-2, L-3) injections were only moderately encouraging - IMO. I talk to the Dr in about a week. A lumbar fusion and then a bi-lateral lamenectomy has only preserved a stenosis causing the lumbar pain.
I am already studying a new procedure called 'MILD' - minimally invasive lumbar decompression. Good grief! sigh
Welcome home! ! !
Thanks for posting bitt, sent it along to a few I know with back pain.
Good to see you.
Stay safe.
