How the heck is It that these dummies had solid batons, heavy enough to hit much of anything with.? Batons should be hollow wood, hollow plastic or maybe aluminum tube, very light in any case.
I well remember being 3rd leg guy in a 400. #4 guy left early and I fell on my baton trying to reach him. Crushed the hollow wood baton and got a splinter in my leg.
Took 30 years for that scar to fade.
When I was in high school the batons were hollow aluminum, and I suspect that’s what this baton was. If so, it means that girl fought viciously to cause that much damage.
I could never find out if Roberts got paid for that speech/class or who paid for the ride? And that Maltese Cross by the door doesn’t really say “school”. Usually Order of St. John or Malta Military Order. The trip just has a bit of smell to it?

Slightly off topic, but Grandma and I had lunch over in Billings this afternoon.
Beautiful view of the Yellowstone River bluffs and the highways running North & East from town.
Didn’t take that long to eat but I was struck by the number of truckloads of oil well pipe and equipment I saw headed for The Oilpatch.

I’d be suspicious that some bean counter saved a few bucks and was using old police batons or cut off cue sticks? And the kids were running. I’m just not seeing how someone could plant a foot and swing hard enough to raise a bruise with a normal baton?
I disagree re: animal testing. They can do testing via other means as described. And if they’d stop inventing so many dangerous medicines and using so many toxic chemicals and household products they wouldn’t need to torture animals and then harm people later.
During my reading this evening, I ran into this. It made me think of the appropriate penalty for human trafficking. Actually, in that case, add sexual abuse on top of the kidnapping.

I've even done it when explaining that we can't do it. (e.g., copied a 'forensic matter smeared post' in my reply).
Perhaps it's like the ring driven through the ear of pirate worn to show he 'earned' it by crossing the equator? (I forget whether it's the right ear or the left, and it matters)
I wasn't thinking of you or anyone in particular. I just have been noticing the number of 'pot holes' in the thread (empty craters where posts were pulled up and thrown away). I slow down, pass by, wondering 'wut did I miss?' cause I like posts dipped in Q sauce, so the more we can conserve, the better.
