**I loved him in Superman!**
Good but I had a problem with it. Comic book Lex Luther was bald as I remember.

**He played a conservative Christian Senator in The Birdcage.**
REPUBLICAN senator. A cheap shot Hollywood is good for.

It was always exciting how he could take over a scene and it would explode. Grabbing the balls in Mississippi Burning. Crashing the bar in French Connection.

Hackman didn’t want to shave his hair for the role, so he portrayed Luthor wearing wigs to cover up his baldness.

Hollyweird may have thought The Birdcage was a cheap shot, but that movie in fact was a conservative paen to live, marriage, and family.

And those chuckleheads didn't even realize it.

Though I wonder if Hackman did. I love his performance and the movie

It's one of the rare sequels I prefer to the original. And Hackman is a big reason why.
