There are a few problems with your argument. First, Ukraine is a country of mostly flat farm land. It's not like Russia needs to move supplies up a mountain side like the Italian campaign in WWII. Secondly, the ground is frozen in winter so motor vehicles don't get stuck in the mud. In this case, Russia is using donkeys because it lacks motor vehicles or fuel for them. Russia using livestock to move supplies comes after it was using all kinds of smaller vehicles to move supplies to replace damaged military vehicles to do the job. That has been well documented by video.
