The Democrat Party is hard left—and when we pretend they are warm and cuddly we are asking for a boot to be stomped on our face.
Agreed. The Democrat Party has been radical since Kennedy stole an election from Nixon and then LBJ killed Kennedy.
I view it a bit differently, because I don’t believe “liberals” have disappeared.
I use the rule of threes to classify liberals
In the first class of liberals are what we have traditionally referred to as “bleeding heart liberals”. They’re not necessarily bad people or evil people, IMO. These are the kind of people that we can sometimes talk to, the kind of people you will sometimes hear say things like: “why can’t the government make some money available to people who are down on their luck?” Basically, they view things as the perpetual immature adolescents that the Left wants people to remain as for as long as possible in life. They are people who are too busy to engage intellectually to learn issues, too lazy to look at issues and make appropriate decisions, intellectually incapable of parsing information and deciding, or are simply politically apathetic and vote on the basis of emotion alone, when they vote at all. (NOTE: I readily admit that the existence of these people I classify as “liberals” are a threat to this nation simply because they are leveraged deliberately, constantly, and forcefully by the Left which uses every tool of deceit and fear they can bring to bear on them, often with great success. I say this to demonstrate the nature of the threat they pose, when used as a tool of the Left.)
The second class of liberals are the moonbats. I don’t view these people as being either very intelligent or very thoughtful. They’re the people who drunk the Kool-Aid, and can recite talking points with fevered faces and bulging eyes. I find these people are impossible to talk to because they’re impervious to logic and reason. They believe what they want to believe, and they believe in it passionately, deeply, and with no element of self introspection involved. These are people who fit the bill of the description “Useful Idiots”. They are the ones who will scream the loudest in protest when the Marxists and the true believers take over and push the moonbats into the reeducation camps with all the rest of us. “But I agree with you! I’m not like the rest of these people! Why are you doing this?”
The third class of liberals are the true, hard-core believers. They not only know the writings of Saul Alinsky, but understand what his tactics mean and how they are used. They don’t believe in the garbage that the moonbats subscribe to. These people believe in raw, unadulterated possession of power. There is no compromise and no negotiation with these people that will be fruitful. These people are true enemies of the American way of life. Most of these people (if not all) hate this country and all it stands for, and wish to see it transformed into their vision of America which would be under their control.
