My vet once told me that a cat drinking a lot of water is a danger sign for kidney failure saying that they are essentially desert animals.

Might have been enough roaches for a cat to eat in that stuff they were moving...
Does it really take 3 weeks to get from Washington state to Colorado?
Maybe the husband was too embarrassed to ask for directions.
Yeah actually a lot of animals can go into a low activity mode under certain circumstances. Cat could have just remained still, used minimal energy and not moved much, which would reduce fluid loss.
I’ve heard stories like this before. Cats have weird biology and abilities to withstand stress.
They didn't have a Fauci.
I have heard in the past that cats are even more sensitive than most animals when it comes to lack of food and water. They go into organ failure rather quickly. So there is something really off about this story.
How Long Can Cats Go Without Food?
Theoretically, cats could survive 1 or 2 weeks without food, provided they have water. However, any period longer than 24 hours is concerning. Cats will get significantly weaker the longer they don’t get enough nutrition. After just 2-7 days without food, cats are at significant risk of hepatic lipidosis, a severe liver condition.
How Long Can Cats Go Without Water?
Cats can survive without water for 2-3 days, but after 24 hours without water, cats will become dehydrated. Dehydration then causes stress on their organs, which can lead to other complications such as organ failure. Cats should have access to fresh water every day.

Miraculously survived…..trapped in sofa….
That’s what the cat wants you to believe.
Cats are desert animals.
Yeah it sounds doubtful for sure. Unless the cushions got soaked during the move that would be one of the only ways I could maybe see it happening but surely it woulda dried up in a week or so?

Maybe the father bought another similar looking cat and didn’t tell the daughter. Been known to,happen, especially with pets like hamsters or 🐠 lol.
So, optimistically, eight lives to go.
“The man who was trapped under the Nimitz freeway for 28 days ...”
Your credibility just took a severe drop with that post ...
Not 28 days. 90 hours.

Have a nice day.
Lol! My father was very reluctant to ask for directions.
