Yikes: Brandon Johnson's Week Starts off on Seriously Bad Note - and Things Are About to Get Worse

When Lori Lightfoot was Chicago's mayor, it was often said that she was America's worst, with then-New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) coming in a close second.

Though both are, thankfully, no longer in office, Chicago saddled itself in the next election cycle (spring 2023) with a bonafide wokester in the form of Brandon Johnson, who was supported by, among others, "Defund the Police" advocates and the corrupt Chicago Teachers Union, who he worked for before running for mayor.

Johnson has arguably assumed the role of "worst mayor," though he's got some strong competition with Dolton, Illinois mayor Tiffany Henyard. But being the purported leader of one of America's most iconic cities and frequently butting heads with Republicans on up to President Trump has put him under the microscope in a big way, not just among the people of the Windy City but also nationally.

Though Johnson hasn't been in office quite two years yet, his first and perhaps only term has been a disaster, with both Democrat and Republican officials alike in Chicago routinely blasting him for terrible decisions on issues like the illegal immigrant crisis, public education, and crime.

Most recently, there have been the ethical questions brought up over Johnson's so-called City Hall "gift room," prompting the mayor's team to release a 20-second video that they hoped would quell concerns from inspector generals and watchdogs over the propriety or lack thereof of Johnson accepting - and keeping - lavish gifts.

Unfortunately, that video nor anything else Johnson tries to do to win back the support of voters is working, as his newest poll numbers are his worst yet:

(snip)

Only 6.6% of respondents held a favorable record, which gave him a net favorability rating of -73.3%. About 12% of respondents had a neutral opinion of Johnson.

“Dems always replace with worse.”

the one funny thing my POS uncle (moms brother) said about my mom was that she always replaced her men with a worse one.
At least my dad was okay
my step-ded was a major step down
her first fling after 2nd divorce was a step down further
and then her next fling was the worst. At least that isn’t active anymore and she’s in a good place in her life now.

but boy, my mom did not follow in her mothers footsteps in her choice of men, thats all i can say!

And at the next election, he will not be the candidate, and a candidate who supports 97%+ of his policies will win in a landslide...

I think Pilsner’s forecast is the most accurate of the two. We see that time and again, don’t we? They throw out an extreme candidate (Lori Lightfoot) who has really stepped in it, but replace that person with another who is just as bad (or maybe even worse).

Too bad they were stupid enough to elect him in the first place. These cities seem like it’s a competition to elect the leaders worse than the last every election.
