Transgender basketball player goes AWOL from girls' playoff game amid fan protests and Trump ban... and team lose by 26 points

A transgender high school basketball player in California did not participate in a girls' playoff game on Saturday, amid fury from fans and President Donald Trump's executive order banning trans women from competing in women's sports.

The player, who plays for San Francisco Waldorf, gained attention after a dominant 29-point performance against a rival school last month.

And the athlete was reportedly set to play against Cornerstone Christian this weekend.

However, Fox News Digital - who first reported on the athlete's status for the game - wrote on Sunday that the player was absent as Waldorf lost 56-30 to Cornerstone.

There has not been a reason given for why the player didn't suit up, the outlet said.

Trump's executive order applies to athletes at schools that receive federal funding, with the President saying he would cut funding from any school who defies his order.

Nonetheless, San Francisco Waldorf is reportedly not the only school in California that continues to allow trans athletes to participate in women's sports, and Trump's Department of Education and Office of Civil Rights is currently investigating the California Interscholastic Federation.

Despite the player's eventual absence from the game, the suggestion that the athlete would suit up led to protesters showing up.

As posted to X, a group of at least seven people showed up with signs in opposition to the transgender player, with one reading 'Save Girls Sports.'

The X post said that the fans did not end up brandishing the signs at the game since the trans player did not participate.

Winning is the only thing for them, and they don't much care how they do it.

That's why it's fairly useless for the parents to speak up.

So if you took the boy off your girl's basketball team, and then your team loses badly to another all girls team ... then perhaps the rest of the girls on your team learned to use the boy on their team as a crutch and you taught them to underperform.

What about the opposing team, the victors? Were there any crossdressing guys on that team? OTOH...has that one crossdressing guy been carrying the rest of the team.
