Those things are starting to pop up around here as well.
Postal carriers are too lazy to deliver mail to your house any more.
When was the last time you saw a mailman walking his route with a bag full of mail?..............

Actually not too long ago in my step mother’s neighborhood but other than that I can’t remember the last time.
Also, I like the cluster boxes for security purposes.....but that security is predicated on THE BOX BEING LOCKED!!!

Not ours! We have a great relationship with our mail carrier. HQ is another story.
We have a 200' driveway. For a long time, we had a deal, if there were any boxes that wouldn't fit in the mailbox, just drive up and leave everything on a table just inside the man-door for the garage. (Door is unlocked)
In winter, when they had chains or studded tires, we'd sign a waiver at the Post Office to allow them on our driveway and absolve them of any pavement damage.
A couple of years ago, that stopped. HQ in DC says no more waivers. So now, our guy WILL come up if he's not being followed, but they DO have people following them around to make sure they're NOT going up driveways!
So now, he actually hoofs the stuff up the driveway. When it's NOT him, they put the boxes in a bag and leave it by the mailbox out on the road.
We actively TRY to make it easier, and they said NO!
We make sure our guy gets a nice tip every Christmas.
