'city-killer' asteroid
Might not be so bad if we could just pick the city.

I have a couple in mind, so we need more than 1. :)

Better check the asteroid damage clause in your home insurance policy!

They always assume it will hit the land.
What if it hit the ocean?
Would there be a tsunami 100 feet tall headed in all directions at the speed of sound?.....................

I think that would be the worst scenario. It would be worse than that earthquake about 20 years ago that caused that tsunami.

What is the total area of all cities in the world, compared to the area of the entire earth, including ocean? Odds are low it will hit anywhere on earth, much lower that it would hit a densely populated area. More likely to hit ocean. Tsunami a concern.

Another concern would be if it hit a major fault line!................

NASA must be worried about the Department of Government Efficiency sniffing around...
To: rdl6989
Why do I get the feeling that the probability is even higher, but for some reason NASA wants to kind of sneak it up on us?
