To be fair, I watched the entire skit. This MAGA/Hanks portion is a small part in SNL's Black Jeopardy skit, which spent a lot of time poking fun at black stereotypes. Including Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock.

I saw it as you describe too. But an old maga guy isn’t going to recoil when approached by a black guy in real life. Eddie Murphy was hilarious.
