Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin expressed frustration over not being asked to serve in the Trump administration, saying the president's "gatekeepers" are "tight."
Speaking to NewsNation's "On Balance With Leland Vittert" on Friday, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate said she's "frustrated" that she hasn't been asked to be a part of the administration.
"I thought that there would be a position in Energy in that Department, because that's my baby: wanting energy independence for America. You know, that's all about security and sovereignty of our nation is to be energy independent," Palin said. "But that hasn't happened."
The 2008 running mate of the late Sen. John McCain said she's been surprised that her background in an energy-rich state and national politics has kept her off the administration's short list.
"I didn't even get credentials to attend the GOP convention, if you can believe it," she added. "They're tight. They're tight.
"And I'm the only living Republican nominee who had run for VP or president who supported Trump. And even I couldn't get in. So, you know, yeah, they're pretty tight ... but I'd love to serve."
Palin, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2022, predicted that if Trump isn't able to get his mandate through, some personnel changes are likely to happen early.
"If things aren't going to be smooth, if his agenda is not going to be ushered in per the vote of the people, the wishes of the people, then I think they will regroup and maybe already change some persons," she said.

McCain would have been “Hillary Lite”, and Palin would have had little impact as VP.
Palin was a very effective governor and had 93% approval, even being driven from office by the national media she left with 54% (Alaskan) approval while Governor Mitt Romney left his governor office with 34% as a failed governor.
At some point?
I never saw anything about her during the 2024!campaign. Presuming her public persona had legal baggage, she apparently did the right thing and kept out of sight.
A victor could be magnaminous to his/her enemies after battle. Whatever she may be, palin isn’t an enemy.
Her kids are a mess, she’s divorced. She can’t run her own life, I’ll be damned if she’ll run mind- billy joel.. sorta

Agreed—McCain was toxic trash.
She should have said “no”.
That would be taking a stand on principle—and I would have respected her for it.
If you think that Palin would have been irrelevant as vice president of the United States, then you don’t remember her power in building up and leading the right and how she almost dragged McCain into the presidency, until he had to finally fight to kill his campaign.
The American Conservative Heroes are Reagan, Palin and Trump.
Reagan had his own long period of learning about the Left, Trump had his first term to learn about the Left, Palin had neither and no support from us.
Most "Republicans" aren't fit to shine her heels, airplane, bobsled or truck. She was standing toe to toe with the biggest big boy politicians at a time when no Female politicians in America would do so.
Sarah made a few mistakes, but was fighting Highly Organized DemoRat Lawfare and Highly Organized DemoRat-MSM Disinformation while Do-Nothing RINOs and "Conservatives" didn't even know those things existed.
Palin resigned to spare the ordinary Alaskan taxpayer the cost of the Lawfare civil suits, a Trick DemoRat Law in Alaska required the State to pay all the Lawyers that file suit against the Governor, but not against a private party.
The moment Palin resigned, the Rat Lawyers dropped the nuisance suits because they knew they wouldn't get paid and they wouldn't win.
Palin was fighting absolutely alone which puts the shame on US, not her.
Jonathan Edwards.
But you’re rolling!
Inform the authorities of your idea, sell it to the public, sell it to Alaska.
True - but the Palin attacks opened our eyes fully to the viciousness of the Democrat-Media Complex.
She took MANY for the team, and we owe her something for that.
I suspect much of it set the ground work that eventually lead to her divorce.
As for you calling her kids white trash, that's disgusting and uncalled for, but not unexpected.....Sheesh
You are absolutely correct.
She had extensive understanding of Russia from an economic vantage, her career did not just begin in ‘08 - I have read her autobio.
Also she predicted the annexation of Ukrainian territory.
I soured on Palin long ago. She’ll always be McCain’s running mate in my book.
Yuck!
That was my reaction as well, picking Palin for VP got my vote, reluctantly, for McCain...
You are absolutely correct.
