Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin expressed frustration over not being asked to serve in the Trump administration, saying the president's "gatekeepers" are "tight."
Speaking to NewsNation's "On Balance With Leland Vittert" on Friday, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate said she's "frustrated" that she hasn't been asked to be a part of the administration.
"I thought that there would be a position in Energy in that Department, because that's my baby: wanting energy independence for America. You know, that's all about security and sovereignty of our nation is to be energy independent," Palin said. "But that hasn't happened."
The 2008 running mate of the late Sen. John McCain said she's been surprised that her background in an energy-rich state and national politics has kept her off the administration's short list.
"I didn't even get credentials to attend the GOP convention, if you can believe it," she added. "They're tight. They're tight.
"And I'm the only living Republican nominee who had run for VP or president who supported Trump. And even I couldn't get in. So, you know, yeah, they're pretty tight ... but I'd love to serve."
Palin, who unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2022, predicted that if Trump isn't able to get his mandate through, some personnel changes are likely to happen early.
"If things aren't going to be smooth, if his agenda is not going to be ushered in per the vote of the people, the wishes of the people, then I think they will regroup and maybe already change some persons," she said.

Certainly Governor of Alaska is a good place to get back on the American Political Trail and publish her message.
I was a HUGE Palin fan. Even met her shortly after she was picked as vice president on the McCain ticket. Worked the campaign. Begged people to vote for MCCain/Palin because I was convinced Obama was poison for America. And he is. She made the McCain/Palin ticket easier to swallow....but there were too many people who could not vote for him. He was a traitor. I wonder if she would have had a better political future if she finished her role as Governor. She was elected in 2006 and was busy running for Vice President since August 2008 and stepped down as governor in July 2009. She has been a huge disappointment since. Not the firebrand I thought she was. I put alot of time into that campaign because I believed in Sarah. I feel duped.
Unlike Trump, Sarah did not have the financial resources to fight the lawfare.
Additionally, she lost the 2022 race due to RCP - an evil & un-American voting method.
Sheesh...so many freepers misrepresent Sarah's record and challenges - either due to lack of knowledge or purposefully.
She was a firebrand, a self made woman without money and without a powerful husband or family name, and no connections, it took many years for the national media to tear the entire family down.
Sarah’s two eldest children have done the most damage to her social profile. They have a knack of making news in the most negatively distracting kinds of ways. Bristol’s goofy selfies and her soap opera love life. Track has been repeatedly accused of violence toward women. It’s very unfortunate. Outside of her family, Sarah has exhibited remarkable leadership skills and talents.
Sarah cannot control these adults who often act like entitled children.
Hunter Biden was repeatedly excused by the press.
Any conservative will be pilloried by the press, as they react to antics of an adult child who is constantly seeking more attention, however they can get it.
Eventually, I expect Trump will be asked about this directly and on camera. If that has already happened, I have not seen his reply.
The lawfare would have been paid by the state of Alaska. She did the state a huge favor. She then moved out of Alaska and purchased a home in Arizona in 2011 before moving back and eventually running for office. Yes RCV is the devil! I did not misrepresent her record and do understand she took alot of abuse from both parties. But what have her major accomplishments been since?

I was hoping she was the real deal. I have met Sarah and Todd and it was a pleasure. Yes, she was self made. Todd and Sarah earned their money thru hard work. But in all fairness, the national media didnt tear the family down. The Palin’s did that to themselves.
You duped yourself, mouse. True supporters don’t throw in the towel that easily.
She’s had a tough go ever since she stood of for McStain, the leftists went after her and her hubby had an affair.

Sarah’s been quiet,
I remember much but mostly I liked here
and she had a good way about her.
Cheers
There you go again, you useless, uneducated leftwing troll!
Alaska law mandates the individual fund their own legal defense...and why Sarah was unable to remain and fight the lawfare.
Little mousey, you're a despicable human being...now slide back under the rock you came from and take your communist propaganda with you.
Both sides went after her brutally. It is my understanding the affairs were mutual. Thats their business and should stay that way. Her kids were an embarrassment. I met the Palins and they are very nice people. I wish them all the luck in the world. But I dont believe there is anything of value she could add to this administration.
Sarah has no recent major accomplishments that I am aware of. Did the reality show. Moved to Arizona. Moved to Alaska. Ran for office. Occasional appearance CPAC etc. Am I missing something?
I wasn’t talking about the money, she was self made in taking on the Alaskan political establishment and taking it all the way to the Governorship, and the media did go after her family as we have never seen in American history, the kids were gone after and followed all the way, including with the fake and bias version of events, but always with the worst possible spin.
For someone who says you supported her and moved on simply because of changing circumstances and how you saw her, you post a lot of snark and dark negative spin on her, misleading and with a spin like a hostile media figure, you are displaying a sleazy effort to discredit her, you even dismiss the national media, which is ridiculous.
Your hostility is obvious and it doesn’t sound like someone who simply moved on from her, it comes off as someone with a visceral dislike for her and her effect on politics, even if you did campaign for McCain.
No thanks, Sarah. There was a lot of pressure on her, some unfair, some self-inflicted, but now it doesn’t seem like a good fit for her or Trump.
Yes thanks to Palin’s efforts and endorsements (which included Rand Paul) we were able to undercut the extremes of Obama’s domestic agenda plus preview MAGA.
I share your frustration and it peeves me to this day that Governor Palin never received her vindication even among conservatives who were behind her.
We owe Tea Party roots of MAGA to her.
Her endorsement of key senators like Rand Paul turning the tide.
And greats like Tammy Bruce cemented her place in conservative movement because of how inspiring Palin was.
“”””stepped down as governor in July 2009. She has been a huge disappointment since. Not the firebrand I thought she was.””””
See post 115, just as you deny the media’s destruction of her and her family, you seem to have missed all those Tea Party years and the Palin power and her extremely effective endorsements in the years following 2008.
Your posts are not coming off as honest or truthful.

Ditto. And I didn’t vote Romney because he’s s liar and I hate Paul Ryan.
