For many years we in Upstate NY have wanted to split NY into two states, one being New York City and a few counties immediately north of it, and the other being the rest of the state.

We are so freakin' tired of NYC being this huge monetary and political drain on the rest of the state. It's quite likely that the new state of NYC would collapse under its own incompetence, "That's a shame". The new state of UpstateNY would be slightly right-of-center politically and we could get rid of all these stupid leftist regulations and laws.

But I dream on....

This may be a great angle to pursue. I would retire and move to Salamanca or Cuba if it was part of Pennsylvania. No joke. I hate that downstate NY automatically makes the NY house Democratic. They don’t speak for me and my duck hunting statesmen.
