Shouldn’t they be seeking refuge with the Kingdom of the Netherlands that consists of four countries: the Netherlands, Aruba, CuraƧao, and Sint Maarten?
Suriname was formerly a Dutch colony and Dutch is still the official language there. Afrikaans is derived from Dutch so it should not be hard for them to learn Dutch—and supposedly English is widely spoken there (probably most of them know English). Suriname is sparsely populated (10 persons per square mile) but I don’t know if there would be any economic opportunities for the Boers there.
