Rob, The Don would like to have a word with you...

Well, consider the source, Politico. This could be all made up and none of it true.

“Well, consider the source, Politico. This could be all made up and none of it true.”

Good point as we now know that USAID is EVERYWHERE (perhaps even here), but the cuts will likely not go beyond DOGE-identified abuse.

Problem is he’s from a very MAGA part of the state of pa. He needs Trump voters to win. He won largely cause Trump was at the top of the ticket he turns against Trump he’s pretty much cooked.

I see he got the leftards’ “gut/gutting” memo. Buzzword of the week.

This movement is much larger and more imperative than this guy’s problems getting reelected.

As far as I can see, Trump is cutting fraudulent programs that make rich Democrats richer, and also firing bureaucrats in Washington DC. I’m not sure I see where benefits to people in NE PA are being cut.

Pennsylvania Rep. Rob Bresnahan?

What was Rob doing while the Communist left in government spent decades looting the tax payers of trillions?

I believe that he is a prime example of why we are where we are today.

I saw the phenomenon many, many years ago in my first venture into discussing politics. It was easy to get people to support cutting government programs and waste. Until you touched on one they liked or depended upon.

No matter how crazy, inappropriate, inefficient or stupid a program is, there will always be those dependent on it to scream and shout at there political representatives.

If true, he could be a RINO. But the warning is entirely appropriate. It IS politico.

And we do not accept the false premise that benefits are being “gutted”. That is all Politico.

Unless “benefits” are back channel tax money disbursements to Leftists.

I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this.

“Cut government waste, just not the stuff in my district. That’s different, because that’s what buys me the votes to get re-elected.”

“...leaders are targeting for key safety net programs...”

Yeah, well, about that... the only “key safety net programs” I see being targeted are those that benefit *DemocRAT politicians and DemocRAT operatives*.

Or, maybe I’ve just missed something... NOT!

Hey Bresnahan. Would it be better that the USA spend its way into complete collapse? What will your people say then? The medicine is tough but necessary. Man up or shut up. Are you a Great Reset hack?

Thank you for referencing that article Beave Meister. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"Vulnerable House Republican warns against benefit cuts [??? emphasis added]"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

If this were a better world, the "Republican"-controlled Houses would be supporting PDJT47 to eliminate the personal income tax by proposing an amendment to the Constitution to the states to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments.

After those amendments are gone, the states would find new revenues to run their own social spending programs as the Constitution's drafters had intended.

As a side note to the states running their own social spending programs, consider that it is easier for voters to recall corrupt state lawmakers from office than it is to get corrupt federal lawmakers out of office.

The big question is what are the benefits his constituents rely on, who are they, and why do they need them?

Politico is paid government propaganda. And I have T-shirts older than Rob Bresnahan. Get with the program or get kicked out.

No quarter.

As usual with the feds, the workers in the field will get cut while the bureaucrats in DC will be unscathed unless they volunteer to leave.
