There is a way mutually to support excellence in the arts and entertainment and do so without catering excessively to this or that ideology. But it is not easy.
The first step is to know the difference between excellence and mediocrity. Stravinsky was Russian and tested the sensitivities of the classical genre. I would have welcomed him to the KC, but some in the day would have balked.
The important things is that those who run the place run neither it nor our culture into the ground yet give space to artistic expressions a common citizen would applaud as excellent.
