The unidentified teacher works for the Miami-Dade Public Schools.
He was detained at an immigration hearing, after having
lived in the US since childhood, NBC Miami reported.
The educator is a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient, a temporary program
that delays deportation of undocumented immigrants who came to the country before the age of 16.
Those in DACA are allowed to work and obtain a social security number and a drivers license.
