Waffle House was open during Hurricane Harvey in Houston. The hurricane that got stuck over us for three days and flooded the heck out of us.

I don’t think anything else was open, but Waffle House was, for a few hours a day.

There is an ‘unofficial’ Waffle House Scale that is used by some Emergency crews.
