After Germany started two world wars, the Allied nations fighting it decided it needed to shrink, and that stopped its revanchism and permitted it to prosper economically. Gaza attacked Israeli civilians and did unspeakable things to them. They lost the moral argument for a Palestinian state in Gaza. It's neighbors have a right to live in peace from it, just as Poland and Russia had a right to be free of German aggression. Start a nasty war and be prepared to lose territory. Harsh consequences for starting a war result in years of peace for all.

And you’re wrong. We “kept” Germany and Japan for a long.
Still to some degree til this day.
