President Trump says the US will take over the Gaza Strip WASHINGTON — President Trump proposed a US takeover of the Gaza Strip Tuesday — shortly after proposing removing “all” Palestinians living there.
“The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings — level it out and create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”
Trump said that the roughly 2 million Gaza Strip residents would be relocated to neighboring countries.
“Just can’t go back. If you go back, it’s going to end up the same way it has for 100 years,” he said at the press conference.
Trump said he would deploy US troops to the territory “if it’s necessary.”

These bold pronouncements always get the fire under the butts. I’m sure Qatar and other countries will pledge billions and Iran will be kept out. The Gazans may need a generation to get things straight in their head though.
This is a bad idea. I can only hope that this is a ploy by Trump to get a better deal/solution to the Gaza problem. I don’t want any Americans dying in Gaza or being captured by Hamas. It’s just not worth it. I’m hoping he’s just trying to shake up the Arab world to get them involved in a more realistic way than they’ve been willing to in the past. What comes next, bombing Egypt and Jordan? What happened to taking out Iran?

I hope he's just blustering. I didn't vote for him so that he could clean up Israel's and Gaza's mess. Especially not with American troops.

No one has suggested that since (that I know) but maybe now is the time to make Gaza the 51st state. Trump may make the motion tomorrow.
If Rubio wants casinos, why not focus on Cuba? That is much more doable.

There were rumblings months ago that it was Kushner’s idea to develop the area...but unsure if true.
The problem here is the Arabs might just tell President Trump he can have Gaza. Nobody likes the Palis.
As I was scrolling through the remarks, that came to mind. Put all of the bad guys in one place and don't let them out.
