It is to me, because the smaller the problem and the smaller the correction needed. The bigger the problem is allowed to get, the bigger the correction that is needed to correct it.

Sine waves do not describe problems & solutions. They describe oscillations with repetition rate & amplitude components. You are describing a linear relationship.

But, to each his own.
