The president of El Salvador on Monday offered to house convicted US citizens in his country’s “mega-prison” and take in deported criminal illegal migrants of any nationality after a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Rubio, 53, said the deal struck with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele represents “the most unprecedented, extraordinary, extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world,” in remarks from the capital city of San Salvador.
“We can send them and he will put them in his jails,” the secretary of state said of migrants set to be deported from the US. “And, he’s also offered to do the same for dangerous criminals currently in custody and serving their sentences in the United States even though they’re US citizens or legal residents.”

We’ll more than likely need an annex and this might fit the bill.....minus the US citizens....that could backfire somewhere down the road.

The criminal element might not view American jail as necessarily all that bad a prospect, worth the risk when they're committing whatever crimes they're compelled to.

Yeah but here’s the thing— why do we give one peso for these pos’? Not uno peso. Ship them away and never bring them to mind. They are leaches so we just need to cut them off and set them on fire, not house them in perpetuity. But maybe that’s just me.
If they aren’t Salvador an citizens they aren’t obligated to accept them, but they could make money in fees from accepting American prisoners if they chose.
We pay our jails to keep prisoners why not his? That’s actually not a bad price and we get them out of our country so some liberal person can’t turn around and let them out in a few years.
