We really need to keep a cool head on this. Everyone on FreeRepublic rightfully denigrates police and marshalls doing no knock entries and killing people. We complain about dogs getting shot and legal gun owners beign swatted.
Did they have to break the door in? Did anyone knock at the door and try to communicate with them?
I beleive most of the people on this board would rather see the police handle this kind of stuff differently, at least for the hope that no one gets killed. Neither the possible perp or the LEOs.
Point taken, but the guy they were after.... Ramos, an alleged gang member, is wanted on charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon for a shooting on November 12.

I agree. There should be a required series of steps taken (and maybe there are) before the law proceeds to tear up property or people. And anyone on FR who’s familiar with my postings will confirm that I am a hardcore law and order guy, not some whiny leftist wimp.
This guy is not someone walking through the US capital or standing outside an abortion clinic. He is definitely a threat.
Going in hard is reasonable when it's justified. But I understand your hesitation given how many unreasonable and unjustified examples we have witnessed over the last many years.

Typically if marshals have a warrant for a violent criminal they are likely to invite themselves in.
