It's the site of the largest volcanic eruption in recorded history, that destroyed the Minoan civilization. It's not just earthquakes they should be worried about...

It's not zombies I'm concerned about. Just the other day there was a post about vulcanologists checking for magma underneath 5 volcanoes in the Cascades. They found indications of magma under all of them, even those that were supposedly "extinct". Is there a pool of magma under Santorini? Probably.

Volcanic eruptions are often accompanied or preceded by earthquaakes, it's one of the prime predictors of volcanic activity. It's possible an eruption is imminent --- today or a century from now, I don't know.
