I gotta go with the Trumpster on the Gaza re-build thing. He’s exactly right that if you give the Palis a neat, clean place to move to, they would. My basic idea would be to stake out a spot farther down the Red Sea, maybe in Sinai or maybe a piece of Soddy land. Out of rocket range from Tel Aviv.
Grade it. Trench in water, power , and sewer, then build townhouse sized units in such a way that they have to take care of each other. Put in a water plant. Make all the water and sewer systems out of stuff that can’t be used to make rockets. Remember there are something like 30,000 widows in Gaza who would jump at a fresh start instead of living in a tent for the next decade or so. Do not let the lowest bidder build it so it doesn’t get built from krapola and Gazacrete.
The existing Gaza strip should be a five star tourist trap and I know Trump sees that. A few years out it could be more than self-supporting. Make I clear to everboddy, Egypts, Irans, Syrias, Jordans, et al, that there won’t be any weapons there.
As soon as the Soddies sign on to the Abraham Accords the plan should be good to go.
Money won’t be a problem. As soon as Trump’s architect chick finishes the plan every bank on the planet will be wanting a piece of the action. And as soon as Trump shuts down Iran, stability won’t be a problem either.
