No serious person believes DJT intends to take Greenland by force. So this is pure theater by once great countries trying to remain relevant. And even if this was he case, neither the french nor the germans could stop it.
China has research outposts/centers in Sweden and Iceland. They are negotiating for science outposts in Greenland and Canada.
Trump is saying in his style of political language (which I call the art of trolling dweebs) laying out big “no effen way” do we want an adversary with even a scientific foothold in Greenland let alone any ship basing (China is building an ice breaker fleet). So the bidding war for Greenland real estate has begun or at least a notification of intent to own or defend and the little minded people of Europe have taken the bait.
What a joke. Please show me where Trump said he wants to acquire Greenland by invading it. And the offer of the French army is like giving a guy a Bowie knife and pushing him into a fight with a guy who's carrying a machine gun while yelling "we're behind you!"
