The story was published in December 2019 and Gerson died three years later in November 2022. There has been a sea change in the country these past five years. Trump is looking for merit-based appointees, not those who check the DEI-CRT boxes. Biden openly praised his DEI hires though many were incompetent. The county now knows what that has done and we are looking forward to competent, common-sense governance by employees regardless of their color, gender or sexual orientation. His cabinet choices already reflect that making Gerson’s article irrelevant and antiquated.
