I Camas, WA we lived one block away from a rock quarry. Every afternoon they would fire a blast to break up rocks. My house would shake and sputter. Ceiling fans would start rotating. I was shocked there were no cracks in the walls. But I was paranoid about the tall house falling down. So added whole bunch of studs to reinforce the existing studs in crawl space. The house was on a steep slope, so the crawl space was 3 feet at one end, and 10 feet high on the other end.

I felt it. I work in a trailer, and it is on earth that was not bulldozed or compacted that well, and for about three seconds there was stuff rattling all over my office. They didn’t feel it in the main building.
