IIRC the black boxes were sent to the US.One would expect that examining them will show us what did...and didn’t...happen.

If you have NO engines and no ability to reverse them upon landing, you will want your landing gear UP to create as much friction as possible upon landing. They definitely were coming in HOT because they had limited options to slow the aircraft. Probably would've been more effective to come in with aircraft nose pitched up for a tail drag but tragedy awaited them no matter what they tried. IN HINDSIGHT, A WATER LANDING WOULD'VE BEEN A BETTER OPTION!!!
That concrete wall at the end of the runway is criminal, in my opinion.
