Hats off to the First Lady for her fashion style.
The hat reminded me of the hat Rachael Welch wore in the movie Hannie Calder while Rachael was holding 2 six shooters in each hand!!!
As well as, she was expected to make nice with people who thought it was okay to send “special agents” to paw through her lingerie drawers, with permission to kill anyone who protested.
I would have like to see more of her face during the events yesterday, but fully understand and respect her choice to not have to face down those who tried to destroy their lives over the past 8 years.
Raquel had a hat? I’ve seen Hannie Caulder a bunch of times and I don’t recall a hat. ;)
Two different audiences.
Noticed a lot of ladies wearing hats at the ceremonies perhaps they are making a comeback along with furs. Perhaps men will start wearing suits and hats too. Those styles of the 1900 to 1960 were so much nicer than today’s grunge.
I love Melania but I must admit when I saw here walk in wearing that hat the first image that crossed my mind was the old McDonald’s Hamburgler

I did not care for that dumb looking hat at all.
Fashion is very subjective. I think the risk of polarization with a choice like that also makes the look signaturely Trumpian. :) She could have chosen a safe and pretty dress, and a more generic hairstyle or updo — but didn’t. If intentional, it resonated with me. There’s a sense defiance and fun to it all that I appreciate.
Reminds me of the scene in the movie “Pretty Woman” when she goes back to the store that snubbed her the first time and told them....”Big Mistake! Big! Huge!”
THIS is a perfect depiction of the hat better than mine in previous post!!!
I think I’m the only one who didn’t like the hat. Not being able to see her eyes was very annoying.
