‘Is There Any Evidence for Jesus Outside the Bible?’

Is water wet? Of course.

It’s anecdotal, but according to lore in the temple city of Puri, Jesus is said to have journeyed to Puri to visit the Jagannath temple there for the purpose of study.

I thought there was evidence that Pontius Pilot wrote about the trial of Jesus of Nazareth. That there were letters and records from the Romans?

He lifted me up when I was down.

All the evidence I need.

Evidence? All you need is faith. My humble heart testifies to the magnificence that is Jesus Christ.

Those lights in the firmament are evidence..

It helps having the bible as a key, though.

Without that key, they’re just lights in the firmament up there, instead of a witness and evidence..

Philo never mentioned him in any of his writings.

There is more evidence of the historical existence of Jesus than there is of historical figures like Charlemagne.

I learned that from "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.

There is literally more evidence of Jesus than there is of Shakespeare.

The Koran also mentions Jesus.

Muslims believe in the virgin birth, and believe Jesus was a great prophet, and will return some day. They do NOT, however, believe in his divinity.

Glenn Kimball wrote two texts, one on the Crucifixion and one on The Resurrection. He has found a lot or relevant contemporaneous documents, including a letter from Pontius Pilate to the Roman Emperor. (Some doubt its provenance, but it is in the collection of The British Museum, and it matches up exactly with the general consensus of events leading up to The Crucifixion.

Here is one of his (hard to get) books:

Hidden Politics of the Crucifixiont

“On the whole world there pressed a most fearful darkness; and the rocks were rent by an earthquake, and many places in Judea and other districts were thrown down. This darkness Thallus, in the third book of his History, calls, as appears to me without reason, an eclipse of the sun.” (Julius Africanus, Chronography, 18:1) [...]

Julius Africanus lived roughly from A.D. 160 to about A.D. 240 - i.e., he wrote this roughly two centuries AFTER the Crucifixion of Christ.

I also believe in the solstice and equinox
But they are pretty much a local thing

When they figured out how to mark the diminishing and the lengthening of days, a couple days after after the short mark was enough to verify the days were getting longer and resulted in a celebration.

Has been independently going on all over the earth, for a VERY long time. Possibly since the 23 degree tilt
