True story. Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane was invited to a White House reception because as a blood relative of a Daughter of the American Revolution under her maiden name Wing no one knew she was now a famous singer. She and Tricia Nixon were graduates of Finch College.
She had the idea of slipping an LSD capsule into food or drink for Richard Nixon. Because she asked Abbie Hoffman to be her guest (at the all female tea party) Secret Service questioned them and took away her chance. She concealed 600 milligrams of LSD and wasn’t found out. Hoffman was able to place a marijuana flag on the White House gate on the way out.
Note. She had lifelong mental illness and knew later that was a bad idea of a practical joke. Another time she felt rain as she was singing outside so did the rest of the show
with her shirt off and topless “because the rain would have made it wrinkle when it dried.”
Preparing for the Smothers Brothers live show she decided to put on blackface makeup she saw in the dressing room and sang two songs that way (on video later).

Considering the hard-partying, rock-star lifestyle that he led for so long, it’s pretty amazing that Grace is alive at 85. Those DAR genes were pretty good, I guess.
